This page explains what Learn From India collects, and — just as importantly — what it deliberately does not collect.

If you use the app without an account (bring-your-own-key mode)

You can generate mock exam and lesson questions without creating an account. Shared mock exams provide a 20-question preview before account creation is required. In bring-your-own-key mode, the AI provider and API key you choose are stored only in your browser's sessionStorage (cleared when you close the tab) and are used solely to call that provider's API directly from your browser. Your key is never sent to our server, and we never see it.

Saved and shared mock exams

When you choose “Save & share,” the generated questions, answer choices, correct answers, explanations, certification, difficulty, AI provider, and model are stored in our question bank. Your API key and your personal answers are not included. The resulting unlisted link can be opened by anyone who receives it, and eligible saved mocks may be offered to other learners.

If you create an account

We store: your email address, a securely hashed password (we never store your plaintext password), your display name, and — if you use them — your exam attempt history and lesson progress, so you can pick up where you left off. Signing in also lets question generation run through our server's built-in AI key instead of your own, subject to a fair-use hourly quota.

Cookies

Signed-in sessions use a single httpOnly authentication cookie containing a signed session token. It's used only to keep you signed in and is not readable by page scripts. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Third parties

When you're signed in, your exam prompts are sent to the AI provider configured on our server to generate questions. In bring-your-own-key mode, your prompts go directly to whichever provider you configured. We don't sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

You can request deletion of your account and all associated history at any time — see our Contact page.

We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will change when we do.
